How does this work? Well, Travelocity makes a deal with a company called Commission Junction, and they act as a 3rd party who manages their affiliate program for them. Then, if someone wants to make a little extra money from their website, they sign an account with commission junction (or one of their comeptitors) and then copy / paste the code into their site. Then, if anyone logs in an purchases airline tickets after having first been to the host webstie, commission junction knows about it, and charges Travelocity some amount of money, and pays the host site $2 for every confirmed sale. Its really not much money, but thats how its done.
